Second Quarter Deadlines are Looming

It’s hard to believe that second quarter tax deadlines are already in our midst. Mark your calendars for the following due dates…

April 15 — Besides being the last day to file (or extend) your 2018 personal return and pay any tax that’s due, 2019 first quarter estimated tax payments for individuals, trusts and calendar-year corporations are due today. Also due are 2018 returns for trusts and calendar-year estates and C corporations, FinCEN Form 114 (“Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts” — though an automatic extension applies to October 15), and any final contribution you plan to make to an IRA or Education Savings Account for 2018. SEP and Keogh plan contributions are also due today if your return is not being extended.

May 15 — Original due date for exempt organization returns (Form 990).

June 17 — Second quarter estimated tax payments for individuals, trusts, and calendar-year corporations are due.

400+ Attend Tax Seminars

We definitely packed the house this year for our Year-End Tax Planning & Tax Reform Update Seminars! The three events brought in nearly 500 attendees. Leader of our tax department and firm Principal Mike Fitzgerald shared some great information and we hope everyone found the presentation useful for year-end planning. Thank you to all those who joined us!

Help Alton Fill Their Toy Barrel!

Our team in Alton is excited for their office to serve as a drop-off location for the Community Hope Center’s 2018 Toy Drive! The CHC is asking for donations from the local community of NEW and UNWRAPPED toys. Their biggest and most urgent need at this time is for larger gifts for boys or girls, ages 1-12.

Our collection barrel will be in the lobby of our Alton office (322 State Street) until it’s picked up by CHC on December 7th. If you are interested in donating, swing on by during office hours and visit our Alton team to help fill our barrel!

Scheffel BOO-yle Belleville Trick-or-Treats Downtown

Our Belleville office really got into the Halloween spirit over the weekend! The team participated in the City of Belleville’s Downtown Trick-or-Treat and handed out candy outside the office. We saw some great costumes and had a wonderful night!
