Meet The Team

Michael has been working in public accounting since 1999 and first joined the Scheffel Boyle team in 2012. He has experience working with a variety of small businesses, as well as large corporations with more than $250 million in annual revenue. His client specialties are audit and assurance services and business valuations. Michael is a valuable member of Scheffel Boyle’s Accounting & Auditing Quality Control Team and, as a Certified Valuation Analyst, is the leader of the firm’s Business Valuation niche.

Michael grew up in Belleville, Illinois and currently lives in Troy with his wife, Sarah, and two young sons. He is very active in the local community and is a member and regular volunteer for the local Chamber of Commerce, as well as Rotary club. In addition to serving his clients, Michael also assists the firm with marketing and recruiting initiatives and in-house training for his team over audit and assurance practices and regulations.

Michael first ventured into public accounting because he says “there’s always something new, every day is unique.” He enjoys forming a close relationship with his clients and becoming more than just their accountant, but their trusted business advisor. He says the biggest compliments he receives from his clients are referrals, because that means they not only trust him with their information, but that of their peers as well. In addition to his client relationships, he also enjoys the team camaraderie at Scheffel Boyle and working alongside the many talented individuals throughout the firm.
